Our Story
For Jeff Martinez, shaping surfboards is the natural extension of a lifetime spent building with his hands and living by the rhythm of the ocean.
With more than four decades of experience as a contractor and master finish carpenter, Jeff has crafted custom homes throughout California—from the neighborhoods of Los Angeles to the rugged coastline of Mendocino County. His work has always been defined by meticulous attention to detail, skilled craftsmanship, and a deep respect for natural materials.
Growing up in Los Angeles, surfing became far more than a pastime. It provided direction, purpose, and community during his youth, offering an escape from the challenges of inner-city life. As his career brought him to San Francisco, Jeff spent years building and restoring luxury homes, refining his craft through the intricate details of the city's iconic Victorian architecture. During this time, he developed a profound connection to Northern California's powerful coastline, spending countless hours surfing Ocean Beach alongside the tight-knit community of surfers who called it home throughout the early 1990s and into the early 2000s.
Seeking a slower pace and a closer connection to nature, Jeff and his family eventually settled on the Mendocino Coast. There, surrounded by towering redwoods, rugged cliffs, and big waves, he continued building exceptional custom homes while returning to the simple joy that first inspired him as a young surfer.
Today, Jeff brings the same patience, precision, and artistry that have defined his construction career into every surfboard he shapes. Each board is individually handcrafted with the belief that exceptional craftsmanship creates exceptional experiences on the water. Jeff leaves a piece of himself with each board he makes, blending his experience into his craft. Whether built for everyday sessions, long point breaks, or the challenging waves of Northern California, every board reflects decades of woodworking expertise and a genuine passion for surfing.
